The Reasons I am Writing This Blog

I love the scriptures

and I love the God of the scriptures.  I have now since 1976 when I had a personal experience with Him that transcended understanding. So I want to know how He thinks, what He thinks. And healing is a major theme of the scriptures. there are at least 147 mentions of healing in scripture, most of them are someone actually being healed through means that are beyond natural understanding. I am absolutely for all medical healing. But medicine plus faith even more so.   

The Scriptures are About Healing

When I sat down to learn from the scriptures what God has to say about healing sickness, I was struck by how pervasive a theme "healing" is, from Genesis to Revelation.    There are about 147 mentions of physical healing in the scriptures (I say "about" because some are passive).    And healing, restoration and the lifting up of the nation all go together.   So the idea is that healing is BIG - it is not just for us, in this moment of need, it is to lift up our family, our neighbors, our nation.  

My Wife has an Urgent Need

A nasty form of cancer with an urgent need.  Linda is a person of remarkable faith and believes with certainty that she will be healed.  BUT she does not want to be healed and have folks say how remarkable her faith is/was.  She wants to be healed so folks will point to God and think HE is remarkable.

I am a Healing Dummy

There, I said it. Faced with an urgent need I realized my thoughts, knowledge, and experience on this subject are disorganized, inexperienced, and untested.  

So I set off to find out what I can. Not from books or the experiences of others. From the scriptures, old and new covenants. There are approximately 147 of them. I am almost done. It is such a prevalent theme that it is a major sub-text of the scriptures.
